The KörberHaus is an open place and meeting point for all generations and cultures in the heart of Hamburg Bergedorf. A house with opportunities for everyone in Bergedorf, Hamburg and the surrounding area to experience, participate and do things themselves.

This is where people meet, talk to each other and support each other. This is where you can learn new things, experience culture and share your experiences. This is where you can meet old and new friends. The KörberHaus is a place where people come together, stick together and share their experiences with society.

The initiative of the Bergedorf District Office and the Körber-Stiftung began in 2016. Today, the KörberHaus is a joint project of the nine partner organizations in the house and the people who work there. The house was officially opened on December 5, 2022, International Volunteer Day.

A place for people to come together

The aim of the partner organizations with the KörberHaus and the LichtwarkTheater also located there, is to create an attractive place that brings people together. The KörberHaus aims to enable and support active participation, cooperation and voluntary work by citizens in Bergedorf – through events, educational opportunities, debates, as well as spaces and opportunities to put their own ideas into practice. To this end, the partners in the KörberHaus are creating a joint offering for the whole district of Hamburg-Bergedorf – which is even more diverse as a result of the opportunity for other organizations and stakeholders to use the premises.

The KörberHaus is a place for people with and without limitations. We consciously focus on dialog and personal contact. At the KörberHaus, it is a matter of course that everyone treats each other with openness, respect and consideration – and that support is available for using the services offered at the house. An open place for everyone – a place for people to come together.
